It was gathered that the suspect had challenged the deceased over his relationship with the lady whom he (Asunmo) was dating but despite Fatai’s denial, Asunmo was alleged to have attacked and murdered the victim before fleeing the area.

A community leader in the area said his attention was called to Fatai’s corpse which was abandoned on a heap of refuse in the area.

"I was told that the two men fought and one stabbed the other to death. The police from the Ijora Badia came to take the corpse away.”

A woman who claimed to have witnessed the bloody scene said the two men were drunk when the fight ensued between them.

“The men were always fighting after drinking. That night, they fought after they were very drunk

Asunmo suspected that Fatai was dating his girlfriend and he confronted him. Although the man denied, he attacked and killed him. The woman in question is a prostitute.”
