A man has been reported to have slept with his wives's nieces, his reasons being that he did it to 'appease the gods' after his wife had cheated on him.

The Edo State police command reportedly arrested the 28-yr-old man, known as Blessing Enoyoze, for defiling two of his wife’s nieces to allegedly ‘appease angry gods’.

It is reported that the accused committed the shameless act after he claimed that a native doctor told him to sleep with two virgins to appease the gods in order for his ailing first son to get well.

The Nation reports that the unidentified native doctor, had reportedly told him that his son took ill because his wife slept with another man, adding that the wife who confessed to have committed adultery, offered to bring two of her nieces to her husband.

Reports indicate that one of the victims, whose name is withheld, could not live with the shame, hence, she invited the police.

The wife of the suspect, speaking anonymously, said she went out the night her husband defiled her nieces, saying that she succumbed to the pressure her husband had put on her after he had caught her with another man.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abdulkadir Mohammed, after the matter was reported to the station, was contacted by one of the victims, had said, it was a family issue to be settled among them.
