It's common, at least in the southern part of the country, to read church posters that would make you laugh uncontrollably and make you wonder what is going on in the House of the Lord.

Yesterday, Monday, February 20, 2017, Instablog9ja posted a church poster on its Instagram account. The poster was another hilarious spectacle in the never-ending list of hilarious church special programmes.

As ridiculous as it sounds, the Shepherd's House Assembly International, Abuja will be holding a special church program on February 25, 2017, titled 'Fight For Your Marriage'. You can feel free to laugh now.

The joke does not stop there. The female soldier on the poster looks like a para-military soldier about to storm a den of marriage disturbing demons.

If you think this is silly, then welcome to the world of the silliness that is mushroom churches selling people dreams and preying on their insecurities and needs.

The average church in Nigeria sells itself as a dispensary of quick fix miracles, outrageous prayer goals and ridiculous statements.

A lot of these hilarious church posters reflect the needs and insecurities of many Nigerians. Unfortunately, instead of addressing these issues responsibly, most Nigerian churches organise 'special programs' with silly and unrealistic proclamations.

With headlines such as "Anointing To Travel", "Who Wake The Sleeping Lion", "Kill Them Before They Kill You" and "Leave Me & Let Me Drive My Car" you get the feeling that some fraudsters call themselves pastors and scam people. Don't be fooled for once. These special programs have donations and offerings too.

These church posters might be indeed funny but it also highlights the fact that organised religion has created a lane for scammers to make a living off selling dreams to a lot of people.
