A Nigerian man and his girlfriend have been arrested and detained in Thailand for trafficking in drugs.

A 34-year-old Nigerian man, Ogochukwu Ukwani and his 31-year-old Thai girlfriend,  Samorn Sutthakaew, have been arrested by the police in Thailand with with 200g of drugs in Pattaya, a city in the Amphoe Bang Lamung in Chonburi Province, on the Gulf of Thailand, Daily Mail reports.

Ukwani was arrested on Thursday, July 7, 2016, after the Pattaya Police Patrol spotted a white Toyota Altis pulling over in Thepprasit Road. The officers watched as the passenger opened the window and threw out a snack bag.

The police reported that although it looked like a regular litter drop, the officers noticed the bag was sealed with transparent tape and on investigating, found two bags containing the drug, Ice weighing approximately 200 grams.

The report added that the officers alerted other cops who then created a road block and the vehicle was stopped and the driver turned out to Ukwani, who was with Sutthakaew, and their one-year old baby.

They were taken to Pattaya Police Station for further interrogation.
