Rahama Sadau Ali Nuhu describes actress' ban as logical

Rahama Sadau was recently banned from Kannywood for featuring in a romantic music video.

Ali Nuhu has shared his thoughts on the expulsion of Rahama Sadau from Kannywood, the Hausa film industry.

In an interview with Daily Trust, the top Kannywood actor described the ban as a logical one. He however stated that a suspension would have been a better option.

"I think that the ban is logical. She belongs to Kannywood, started her career in Kannywood and has violated the ethics and code of conduct of Kannywood by holding hands and falling on the guy’s back," he said.

"But I don’t think she should be banned.  Maybe a suspension. There are situations where people create big things out of small ones. That is why before deciding to do something, one needs to think," he added.

Following Sadau's ban, fans and followers described MOPPAN as selective for not expelling Nuhu, who has also featured in romantic videos.

Speaking about  critics, the actor said, "About photographs of me in scenes with females, those are from Nollywood movies, many years old, and this code came into light recently, so people shouldn’t think MOPPAN is being selective."

According to a statement issued on Sunday, October 2, 2016, by the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Sadau was expelled for featuring in a romantic music video by Jos born singer, ClassiQ.

Sadau’s expulsion was made public in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Salisu Mohammed.

On October 4, 2016, Sadau released a letter addressing the unexpected expulsion. She also apologized to those she offended.

Sadau's upcoming projects include Nollywood movie "Ajuwaya," "Hakkunde" and the anticipated EbonyLife TV series "Sons of the Caliphate."
