Attacker shot dead, Emergency Unit says scene now secure

Eight of the nine are said to be in stable condition, and the other is in critical condition, according to the city’s fire department.

Ohio University attacker shot dead

No fewer than nine people were injured on Monday, November 28, after a shooting at Ohio State University, with the Columbus campus still on lockdown and on alert, multiple reports said.

According to the school those hurt in the attack were injured by methods including stabbing and by motor vehicle, Wall Street Journal reports.

The university’s emergency management service earlier urged students and staff to shelter in place.

"Buckeye Alert: Active Shooter on campus. Run Hide Fight. Watts Hall. 19th and College," the service said in a tweet.

"Continue to shelter in place. Avoid area of College," another tweet from the service said.

Ohio State is one of the largest universities in the United States, with roughly 60,000 students on the main campus in Columbus.
