Hundreds protest Baga massacre with “#JeSuisNigerian” signs [PHOTOS]

The demonstration was inspired by the successful “JeSuisCharlie” (I am Charlie) campaign which was held in the wake of the terrorist attack on satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo which left 17 dead.

Hundreds of people have stormed the streets of Paris with signs saying “JeSuisNigerian” (I am Nigerian) to protest against Nigerian terrorist group, Boko Haram.

Boko Haram attacked Baga in Borno State at about the same time as the Paris attack and many have criticized the lack of attention given to the massacre in Nigeria.

The protesters gathered at the Trocadero Square, near the Eiffel Tower and expressed their disappointment at the inadequate response of the Nigerian government to the terrorist threat.

"It outrages me to see [Nigerian] President Goodluck Jonathan more concerned with his re-election in February than the killing of 2,000 of his people,” one demonstrator said.
