Back in June, Twitter started allowing users of the platform add stickers and cool stuff like that in their pictures and now, it is looking to monetise that by allowing brands pay to let people use their stickers.

Facebook and Snapchat, apart from having sticker and emojis available on their platforms, already offer similar services to brands and Twitter is a bit late to the party.

The first brand to get on this wagon is Pepsi, the global soft drink giant and it is kicking off its Twitter association with a #PepsiMojis campaign.
Twitter made the announcement in a blog post saying, "Brands can design four or eight Stickers—like accessories and other props — for users to add to their own photos. Photos with a brand’s Stickers are shared with all of a user’s followers, allowing brands to be featured by their fans in a truly authentic way. #Stickers act as a visual hashtag, meaning that photos with your brand’s sticker will be connected and discoverable to anyone who taps your brand’s sticker. This allows a brand to see and engage with the people who are using their Stickers in creative ways."
The concept of paying to get emojis or stickers available to end users is not something new but it has steadily begun to get increasingly popular amongst big brands.
Facebook and Snapchat, apart from having sticker and emojis available on their platforms, already offer similar services to brands and Twitter is a bit late to the party.
However, since Twitter has struggled with user growth in as many quarters, it will looking to add this revenue stream to its list of positives and hopefully placate Wall Street and investors in the process.
