Beat 99.9 FM Music Conference, way forward via digital revolution (photos)

Major stakeholders in the music industry came out to discuss on the way forward via digital revolution at the Social Media Week hosted by Beat 99.9 FM

The relevance of Social Media to the Nigeria Entertainment Industry, the effects of digitizing production and distribution in the Music Industry, its low points as well as its benefits, formed the bane of discussion when Lagos Urban radio station the Beat 99.9 FM hosted major Stakeholders on Day 3 of the 2015 Social Media Week Lagos.

Also discussed by groups of distinguished panelists at the conference which held on Wednesday February 25, at the Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, was the cordial relationship between music acts - certified as ambassadors - and the brands they represent.

Some celebrities present gave advice on the best possible way to optimize the usage of Social Media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to push their arts, while also identifying as a viable revenue stream.

The Music Conference which attracted for discussions industry power houses in the likes of Chris Ubosi (Managing Director, The Beat 99.9 FM), Briant Biggs (Co-Chairman, SMWL) & Obi Asika (Founder, Dragon Africa) also had in attendance Elizabeth Hausle (Executive VP Marketing All Def Digital) who gave a Keynote Presentation on the “.”

The SMW Music Conference (panel sessions) was moderated by Beat fm’s OAPs; Douglas Jekan & Dami Elebe, Gbemi Olateru – Olagbegi, Chris “Razor” Oluigbo, Osi Dirisu, and Chin Okeke (Eclipse West Africa).

In his closing remarks, Deji Awokoya (General Manager, the Beat 99.9 FM) made it a point to remark on the turnout of the audience and also enjoined all the panelist to keep the conference going so it is a continual process. He thanked everyone for coming and mentioned that another music conference will happen in 2016.
