Google Nexus 6P

Google has officially announced its flagship phones for this year at its press event holding right now in the US.

The larger of the two devices, the Nexus 6P, is the first Nexus device to be made by Chinese manufacturer, Huawei. The phone will have the privilege of being one of the first devices to launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as is expected for a Nexus device.

The Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen and 2560x1440 resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (version 2.1), 3GB of RAM, and is available in 32GB, 64Gb, and 128GB capacities. The phones’ rear camera uses a 12.3-megapixel sensor, without optical image stabilization. The front-facing camera s an 8-megapixel shooter and the phone does not have a microSD card slot.

Android 6.0 natively supports fingerprint sensors for unlocking the phone and other aspects of the software. Design-wise, the device is quite similar to other high-end Huawei devices, with a fully aluminum case (another Nexus first), and a large ‘bump’ on the rear that holds the camera and flash modules.

The front features dual stereo speakers, Gorilla Glass 4, and the phones' virtual navigation buttons.

The Google Nexus 6P is currently available for pre-order now in the Google Store from $499. According to the store, the phone will start shipping in three to four weeks.
