Chinese tech giant hosts first mobile phone photography exhibition

Award-wining celebrity photographer, Kelechi Amadi-obi, will be showcasing some of his work which was done entirely with Huawei’s flagship P8 smartphone.

Huawei has announced that it will be hosting the first mobile phone photography exhibition in Nigeria at the Lagos Photo Festival, a month long festival organized by the African Artists Foundation, and is the first and only international photography festival in Nigeria.

The festival will kick off with the opening ceremony and will include exhibitions, workshops, artist presentations, discussions, and large scale outdoor prints displayed across the city of Lagos, with the aim of reclaiming public spaces and engaging the general public with multifaceted stories of Africa.

Award-wining celebrity photographer, Kelechi Amadi-obi, will be showcasing some of his work which was done entirely with Huawei’s flagship P8 smartphone.

According to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, the Huawei stand at the festival will also offer visitors the opportunity to have firsthand interaction with Huawei’s mobile technology, especially the Huawei P8 smartphone.

The parent organization for the festival, LagosPhoto, has set educating visitors about photography as one of its main objectives for this year’s event.

Speaking on the event, Mr. Olaonipekun Okunowo, senior marketing Manager, consumer business group, Huwei Nigeria, stated that the Huawei P8 strikes a balance of beauty and artistry, taking mobile photography to the next level.

The Huawei P8 smartphone has a 5.2-inch display, a 2680mAh battery, and a Kirin Octa-core 64-bit chipset.

The festival takes place from October 24 - November 23, 2015.
