Earlier in the year, at Google’s I/O developer conference, the company had announced that the Google Photos application will be operating independently of Google+.

Various media reports have now revealed that Google is preparing to roll out a major update for the Google Photos application that will provide support for Google’s Chromecast streaming feature.

According to a report on Geeky Gadgets, the new features will also provide that ability to add custom labels to pictures within the app, as well as share albums with others.

All of this still speculation, but more details on this and more are expected to be announced later today when Google announces its new devices, a new Google Play Family plan, at the tech giant’s Nexus event.
