TechCabal, Africa’s tech online publication, is announcing the inaugural edition of AfricaBeta, in partnership with WeChat. The event is scheduled to hold on the 3rd of October, 2015 in Lagos, Nigeria.

AfricaBeta is a conference that will explore the ideas and technologies that are shaping the future of the African continent. The aim is to showcase the companies and individuals that are pushing the frontier, influencing how Africans experience a life in which technology has become essential.

This first edition, tagged Chat 3.0, will focus on how chat applications, and messaging are moving beyond communications into the realms of business and commerce.

In addition to robust expositions by experts in the field, one of the highlights of the event will be demonstrations of outstanding value propositions that emerge from the WeChat ideathon. The ideathon is a parallel experience within Africabeta in which startups and developers who apply stand to gain not only early deployment access to the WeChat platform but also go-to-market support for their products and services.
