Governor offers to cater for dead corper’s family

He made the offer at the state secretariat of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), during a condolence visit.

He made the offer at the state secretariat of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), during a condolence visit.

Wike also announced that the allowances of corp members serving in the state has been increased to N10,000.

The Rivers Governor said the government will help the police force fish out the killers of the young man who died serving his nation.

Wike said “The death of this Corps member is unfortunate and condemnable. I urge the Police to thoroughly investigate the crime.

“The outcome of the investigation should be made public so that those involved are prosecuted.

“The killing of this corps member must not be swept under the carpet.”

A family member of the late corper, Mr Alex Edeabeatu, also thanked the Governor for his concern.

According to reports, the National Assembly rerun elections in Rivers state, which held on Saturday, March 19, 2016, was marred with violence.
