‘Restructure now,’ APC chieftain tells Buhari

According to Timi Frank, restructuring would put an end to the various agitations in the country.

Nigerian troops have been told not to get involved in politics in a warning which comes with President Muhammadu Buhari currently in London for treatment for an undisclosed condition

Following increasing cases of agitations in Nigeria, a chieftain All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank has advised the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to reconsider the need to urgently restructure the country.

Recall that the minister of information and culture Lai Mohammed has said that restructuring the country is not a priority for the Buhari led administration.

Mohammed threatened that government would deal decisively with anyone or group that disturbs the peace of the nation.

But, speaking at the weekend in Abuja, Frank urged the APC-led federal government to reconsider such position, saying restructuring does not mean a break-up of the country. Frank also appealed to all the regional leaders and their youth leaders to give peace a chance and refrain from making comments that could hanger region against each other.

“Many distinguished Nigerians across board, including the National leader of APC and the former , have made useful suggestions on how modern nation should be ran, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to these voices of reasoning.

"It is now very clear from different utterances coming from regional leaders that most people are tired of the current system. Therefore, for us to continue to keep Nigeria together, Nigerian government must restructure the country. "We must also learn quickly from what happened in Rwanda and Sudden experiences, that is why I'm appealing to the government to please reconsider the voices of most Nigerians calling for restructuring," he added. While declaring that every region in the country is important in Nigeria project and to keep the nation together, Frank further called the Nigerian youths not to allow themselves to be used by "some politicians disguising in the name of fighting regional course."
