Acting President presides over FEC meeting in Buhari’s absence

The meeting is said to have started at about 10am in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Osinbajo is chairing the meeting due to the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Buhari, on Sunday, May 7, travelled to London for an indefinite medical vacation.

Osinbajo also presided over the last three FEC meetings due to Buhari’s health challenges.

The president’s health has been cause for concern since January when he went to London for a supposed 10-day medical vacation which eventually lasted 49 days.

Buhari admitted upon his arrival that he had never been so sick in his entire life and would need follow-up treatment soon.
