Meet with IPOB leader – Obasanjo tells Buhari

Kanu’s country home in Abia state has reportedly been under siege by soldiers on Operation Python Dance exercise.

Reports say a combined team of security personnel stormed the IPOB leader’s home and allegedly abducted his parents.

Speaking further, Obasanjo said that he also wants to meet with Kanu and find out what his grievances are.

The former President said “We need to satisfy the youth in job creation, in wealth creation, in giving them a better, fulfilled life, in giving them hope for the future. There’s no easy way out.”

According to Punch, OBJ also said “I don’t see anything wrong in that (Buhari meeting with Kanu). I would not object to that; if anything, I would encourage it.

“I would want to meet Kanu myself and talk to people like him, people of his age, (and ask) ‘What are your worries?’ Not only from the South-East but from all parts of Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, the South-East Governors’ Forum has announced a ban on the activities of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).
