Fatal crash kills 11, critically injures 8

The victims were said to have been trapped inside the Toyota Hiace bus.

 

At least 11 people have died in an auto accident in Ilorin, Kwara State in the early hours of Wednesday, May 27.

The incident occurred along Ilorin/Mokwa Road at about 2a.m, after a head-on collision between Toyota Hiace bus with number plate GA 52 XA and a Turbo branded truck numbered XA 939 GZA - leaving 11 dead and eight critically injured.

The victims were said to have been trapped inside the bus.

The accident was confirmed by the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Sector Commander in Kwara State, Mary Wakama. She blamed the tragedy on night travelling and excessive speed.
