NNPC GMD appeals to friends to stop placing congratulatory adverts

Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu, the Group Managing Director (GMD), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has appealed to friends and well-wishers to stop placing advertisements congratulating him over his appointment.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Ohi Alegbe, the Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division of the NNPC, on Friday in Abuja.

The statement quoted the GMD as saying that the appointment was "a serious national assignment that does not require the frivolity of congratulatory adverts and the celebration people want to associate with it''.

"The GMD will prefer that friends and well-wishers support him with their prayers for divine guidance to carry out the onerous task ahead,'' the statement said.
