CBN Governor thanks Buhari for wife’s freedom

Ibrahim Idris ordered officers of the police force to comb the Benin-Agbor road where she was kidnapped.

 

Mrs. Emefiele, who was kidnapped on Thursday, September 29, 2016, was released on Saturday, October 1, 2016.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris ordered officers of the police force to comb the Benin-Agbor road where she was kidnapped.

Emefiele said “I am grateful security agencies for their gallantry in bringing my wife back home within 24 hours in compliance with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“My gratitude to the Delta and Edo State governments, friends and well wishers who, through their actions, prayers and goodwill, helped to bring this harrowing experience to a joyful end.

“I reaffirm my resolve to continue to serve the nation diligently with all his heart without any fear of intimidation,”

The kidnappers had earlier demanded for a N1.5b ransom before she wiould be released.

Some security experts alsodescribed the kidnap of the CBN Governor's wife as embarrassing.
