Femi-Fani-Kayode

Former minister of aviation and public commentator, Femi Fani Kayode also known as FFK has condemned the killing of Shiite sect members by the Nigeria Army.

This is coming on the heels of the undefinedand reported killings by the Nigerian Army of over 20 Shiite members, in a commando style raid of their stronghold in Gyallesu.

Allegations and counter allegations have been tossed around by the two parties.

The Nigeria Army through its spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman accused the Shiite Muslims saying “The sect, numbering hundreds and carrying dangerous weapons, barricaded the roads with bonfires, heavy stones and tyres. They refused all entreaties to disperse and then started firing and pelting the convoy with dangerous objects.”

The Shiite sect through its leader denied the allegations saying “We learnt that (Buratai) was visiting…newly graduated recruits and that coincided with our day of Changing of Flags, which we do annually. We had no intention of doing anything as claimed by the soldiers.”
