EFCC planning to extradite ex-Minister - Magu

The acting EFCC chairman said the agency will move to extradite her after investigations have been concluded.

He disclosed the agency's plan on the former minister while addressing journalists, civic groups, and others on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

Speaking on the anti-graft agency's plans to successfully prosecute offenders, the EFCC boss said, "I want you to know that nobody will go unpunished. We are even seeking to extradite Diezani, but investigations are still ongoing.

"We have reached a level where nobody can stop us in the fight against corruption, but we all must realize that we are all stakeholders, and this fight is for the future generation."

The EFCC boss also urged for the support of Nigerians in the agency's bid to fight corruption, blaming it for the other problems the country is facing, like agitations and strike actions.

He said, "Every evil that is happening now is caused by corruption: agitations, strikes, whatever. Corruption has chased our good human resources out of the country. It is the duty of this generation to correct the evils caused by corruption."

In August, demonstrators of the 'Our Mumu Don Do' movement staged a two-day sit-out protest at the Abuja head office of the EFCC to demand the extradition of the former minister who has been linked to a slew of corruption cases.

The EFCC has obtained court rulings that have ordered the seizure of properties and funds linked to the former minister over the past few months.
