Bomb blast hits Maiduguri mosque

The blast is said to have gone off today, May 30, 2015, at the house of worship which is located inside a market in the state capital.

 

According to emerging reports, an explosion has occurred at a mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The blast is said to have gone off at about 3:30pm today, May 30, 2015, at the house of worship which is located inside a market in the state capital.

Witnesses told Premium Times that the explosion occurred just moments after ‎worshippers began their prayers.

Many people are believed to have died in the incident but no casualty figure has been provided.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack but it is believed to be the work of Boko Haram insurgents.

The terrorists had launched an earlier attack in Maiduguri today leaving 13 people dead and 17 injured.
