Deputy Senate President says politicians are importing arms ahead of 2019

The Deputy Senate President also warned those involved against causing violence, adding that it will lead to loss of lives.

According to Vanguard, Ekweremadu posted the revelation on his Twitter timeline.

He said “With 2019 around the corner, Arms are being imported by Politicians. I remind them that this is the only Country we have, if we destroy it there will be no where else for us to go.”

The Deputy Senate President also called on government to ensure that “schools are well established and must ensure access to schools for everyone.”

“Education can never be cheap. Any cheap education will yield cheap results,” he added.

Who says army cannot take over

The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekeweremadu recently said that there is a tendency that the military can still take over power in Nigeria.

According to the Deputy Senate President, democracy is receding in Nigeria.

The Deputy Senate President has been an advocate of a single-term presidency of five or six years for Nigeria.

He said that the single tenurewill help deepen democracy and good governance.
