Your retweets can get you in trouble with the FBI - for supporting ISIS

The FBI, according to court documents filed on September 16th, tracked and arrested a 22-year old Queens’ resident named Ali Saleh via his retweets.

You can interact with people from all over the world and discuss your favorite shows and sporting events

New reports have surfaced online that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) actually considers your retweets to be endorsements, especially when it comes to chatter about the ISIS terrorist organization.

According to TechCrunch report, the FBI, according to court documents filed on September 16, tracked and arrested a 22-year old Queens’ resident named Ali Saleh via his retweets.

According to the report, Saleh had been expressing his support for the terrorist group since 2013. Although, the FBI is not going to come to your door and kick it down because of a tweet or retweet, a couple of tweets, retweets, and even faves, that are centered around a theme can be enough to get the FBI’s attention.

Saleh was already under the FBI microscope and the tweets and retweets from his Twitter account was enough to convince the FBI that Saleh was indeed a supporter of the Islamic State.

So if you come across a bio on Twitter that says ‘retweets aren’t endorsements’, let them know that the FBI doesn’t think so, at all.
