IHS director of research, Egil Juliussen, Ph.D., supported the claim by saying, "global sales of autonomous vehicles will reach nearly 600,000 units in 2025."

Carbuzz reports that this prediction is based on all of the progress made in the self-driving car business.

So far, a lot of partnerships and investments have been made between ride-sharing companies and automakers, such as, Uber, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Alphabet, Google's parent company.

Then, there are the automakers, like Jaguar, Volvo, Google, Apple, who are working independently.
