General manager urges officials to avoid chasing vehicles!

The General Manager of LASTMA is asking his men to abide by the law.

Mr Bashir Braimah

A few days after Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) got a new directive to book traffic offenders, rather than chase vehicles, the new general manager is doing the same.

Over the weekend, Mr Bashir Braimah advised his men not to chase vehicles, but focus all their energies on keeping the traffic flowing.

He added that once traffic is managed properly, motorists would burn less fuel, save energy and time, more importantly, there will less insecurity on the road.

“Gone are the days of impunity, indiscipline and extortion of money from motorists. All negative vices capable of damaging the image of the government should be done away it.”

He pointed out that Lagos is the economic hub of Nigeria and West Africa, hence the need for proper traffic management.
