You will recall that sometime ago, floods destroyed homes in the Agwagune community that was located near the bank of the Cross River.

Following the development, the federal government embarked on a resettlement drive to alleviate the poverty of the indigenes.

Sources say the construction of the 300 housing units embarked upon by the federal government, has almost been completed.

The resettlement project is jointly being handled by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

During an inspection tour of the site, the Deputy Governor of the state , Prof. Ivara Esu said “the managerial acumen displayed by the DG was an encouragement to both the State and the Federal Government.”

Prof. Esu also expressed optimism that it will be commissioned as part of the 100 days in office celebration of Governor Ben Ayade.

In his response, the Director-General, Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr. Vincent Aquah gave his word that the project will not exceed its completion date.
