The Federal Government is building 150 houses in Akure, Ondo State.

Construction of houses in Akure

The Federal Government is building 150 houses in Akure, Ondo State, with the help of the National Housing Fund (NHF).

Speaking at the launching, Mrs. Mojisola Gbadebo, the State Controller of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), revealed that the project was being sponsored by the bank, and the Federal Housing Authority.

Mrs Gbadebo added that the NHF was open to all income earners from the age of 18.

Benefits of this housing project include accessing a mortgage loan from the bank at 6% interest rate and 30 years of repayment, depending on the age and income level, all possible once the buyer is a contributor to the NHF.

Meadville Building and Construction Company is in charge of the project, which comprises two and three-bedroom flats.

The houses should be completed in the first quarter of 2016.
