Road safety to be studied in public schools

This was disclosed by Corps Commander Sunday Oghenekaro, the new Sector Commander in charge of Akwa Ibom state, in Uyo on Wednesday.

He said plans on implementing the policy have already hit an advanced stage, and that it will include FRSC clubs, seminars, debates, quiz and other enlightenment programmes.

He said the programme is an attempt to impress the values of road safety into young Nigerians, saying, "All these are meant to ensure that when they grow up, they will not depart from it."

The Federal Ministry of Education and the National Education Council (NEC) are part of the planning process to implement the programme.
