Prison inmates in Ogun form musical band

According to one of the inmates, music will keep them away from negative behaviour.

The unlikeliest thing has happened in a prison in Ogun State, Nigeria, where a 12-man music band are seeking donation for musical equipment.

They comprise of inmates of the Federal Prisons in Oba, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area, who are now making good use of their prison time.

Visitors of the Latter Rain Assembly, who visited the prison on Easter Friday to donate some items to the prison and encourage the prisoners, were treated to an exciting performance by the band.

The band leader while explaining what the group is set out to do said coming together was a way of adding value to themselves, as they complete their prison term.

Keeping themselves engaged with music will help them live positively and avoid bad association, while also helping with depression.

Their initiative is a good one. It will surely serve as a catalyst for other better things in the future.
