Star Car Promo Winner- Amaka Mark

Call them the lucky family and you won’t be far from the truth. In one night, Aniekan and Amaka Francisca Mark, residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, won two prizes, courtesy of the Star Mega Promo. While the husband, Aniekan Mark won a ball-point pen, his wife, Amaka Francisca won a brand new 2011 Toyota Corolla car.

« My husband won a pen while I won a brand new car»

Amaka Francisca Mark, a trader and native of Anambra State, who was at the Lagos corporate headquarters of Nigerian Breweries Plc., makers of Star lager beer, to take delivery of the wonder on wheels expressed joy at the development. According to her, it was the best moment of her life. “I am very, very happy that I won this car. This is the best moment of my life. I don’t know what to say to Star for giving me this car,” she said in an excited tone.

Speaking on how she emerged as winner of the car, Amaka Francisca Mark said she got the winning crown cork after her husband bought two bottles of Star one evening in their home, “It was one evening after my husband and I returned from work. He bought two bottles of Star, one for himself and the other for me and we just relaxed at home, taking the drinks. He checked the crown cork of his bottle of Star and showed me that he had won a pen. By that time, I had thrown my own crown cork away, so I retrieved and checked it. I saw the letter ‘S’ and I couldn’t believe it. We were very happy because we already had the other crown corks of ‘T’, ‘A’, ‘R’.

Though her husband may have won only a pen, Amaka Francisca Mark insists that the car belongs to the entire family. “This car belongs to the entire Mark family. It doesn’t matter that the crown cork came from my bottle of Star or that my husband won a pen. In fact, I wanted my husband to be here with me but he couldn’t because he had to go to work,” she said.

According to the mother of three, her life is not going to remain the same after winning the car: “I don’t see how things can be the same with my family again. This is our first car and it is a big boost to my husband and children,” she stated.
