Factory worker dies from injuries he sustained in gas explosion

A young factory worker has been burnt to death following a gas explosion at the Niger Biscuit Factory in Lagos.

Tonte said to be the only child of his parents, alongside two other workers, was reportedly involved in the gas explosion accident on Sunday, March 20, shortly after he resumed work, with the resultant fire burning his entire body, suffering first degree burns.

He was rushed to the Tincan Island Hospital in the area where doctors battled to save his life but in the early hours of March 28, the young man lost the battle, throwing his family and friends into great mourning.
