Rich & Generous: Jay-Z Offers >1 Million Dollars For Education

BeyonceBlue Ivyaren't

Whoever said Hip hop giant, Shawn Carter aka Jay-Z doesn't use his money to help with the real national issues? Maybe civil right activist/actor Harry Belafonte. Well,he’s wrong!

He is a ‘Nigga in Paris’ and a giver of good fortunes. Recent reports show that The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation has donated $1.3 million in college scholarships and study abroad programs for students since its invention.

Jay-Z’s Foundation works hand in hand with the U.S Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to give socioeconomically disadvantaged students in higher education some massive support to propel them and their academic dreams forward.

In a world where these philanthropic gestures are synonymous to the white folks, a black rich man is definitely changing the norm. One of the students who recently benefited for these scholarships, 21-year-old behavioral neuroscience major  Laquisha Springer from the Institute of International Education, IIL, told Diverse, “It makes me proud, you know, to know that someone who is relatively close to my age and someone I can relate to who’s had to struggle to get to where he is, that he’s investing in my future. But when people say he’s not doing enough, they’re expecting him to literally help the world” which is impossible!

In 2012, the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation helped 188 students to go through school. Who still says, Jay-Z doesn't use his influence for the good of America?
