He realised out the hard way and since then, he has found it difficult to forgive and accept them because they hid the fact of his true birth from him for so long.

Read his story here:

"My name is Mark, a 25-year-old graduate from a Nigerian university. I am currently working with my father, or rather, my adopted father's company as the Managing Director.

I say my adopted father because I only got to know that the man and woman I have always known as my parents are not my biological parents.

I have grown up as the only son after with four older sisters and just when I thought my life could not have been better, I got the shock of my life when an uncle who came to ask for money from the company blurted out that after all, I am not a real member of their family.

, my 'father's' younger brother, has always been cantankerous, always picking up fights with everyone. He has refused to do any meaningful thing with his life. He has three unofficial wives with over 15 children scattered all over the place and expects to be given money to maintain them.

The day he came to the office, he was drunk and barged into my office in the middle of a meeting and requested for money.

I told him politely to wait in the reception for me to round up the meeting before attending to him but he kept shouting that he did not come to sit in the reception but to collect money.

I got angry and told him there was no money to give him and that he should leave or I would call the security to throw him out.

The next thing he did was the most shocking I have ever witnessed as he told me that I was just a butterfly who thought himself a bird. He went further to tell me that after all, I was not the real son of my father and that I should go and look for my real parents.

I was so mad and wanted to attack him but my staff restrained me and told me not to take the words of a drunk to heart.

When I got home, I sat my 'parents' down and demanded to be told who I really was and who my real parents were.

After trying to sugar-coat their words, my 'father' opened up that I was dumped by my real mother and was adopted from an orphanage.

They also said no one knew who my real parents were nor where they were. I was so mad at them for not telling me my real situation all these years but they said they were waiting for the right time.

I know I have no right to be angry with them because they have given me everything parents could possibly give their children and they have never discriminated against me in any way, but I am really mad at them at the moment.

I have moved out of the house and have been staying at a hotel to get myself together. They and my 'sisters' have been calling me, begging me to come back home and that I am their son no matter what anyone says but I don't know if I can ever live with myself without finding out who my real parents are.

Mark."
