In an unprecedented move from the White House, First Lady Michelle Obama just released a new rap video.
America's first lady goes viral after making rap video
"If you wanna fly jets, you should go to college. Reach high and cash checks? Fill your head with knowledge,"
In the video, the first lady teamed up with CollegeHumor to create a music video encouraging teenagers and youth to go to college, regardless of what they plan to do with their lives.
"If you wanna fly jets, you should go to college. Reach high and cash checks? Fill your head with knowledge," She raps in the video with Saturday Night Live actor Jay Pharaoh, who appears to be impersonating President Obama, hopping up on the table in the Rose Garden and dancing all over the grounds.
According to a statement from the Office of the First Lady, the music video collaboration is in support of Mrs. Obama's Better Make Room public awareness campaign, which launched last month as part of her Reach Higher initiative.
"I want to honor and empower young people who are working hard in school and pursuing their dreams - and I want to do it in a fresh and fun way," she said in a statement.
"This campaign is leveraging traditional and new media platforms to celebrate student stories in the same way that we often celebrate celebrities and athletes," the statement reads. "
Obama and Pharoah had help on the video from viral video makers The Gregory Brothers, and it was produced by IAC/InterActive's CollegeHumor, which makes viral comedy videos.
