Bride beats up drunk groom, cancels wedding

The Indian bride identified as Ranjeet Kumar Kamat, had reportedly beaten up her groom, going on to cancel the wedding after he turned up drunk to the ceremony.

The Indian bride identified as Ranjeet Kumar Kamat, had reportedly beaten up her groom, going on to cancel the wedding after he turned up drunk to the ceremony.

Gulf News reports that Kamat had blackened her would-be husband's face with soot, throwing a garland of shoes around his neck after he began calling out for beer during their wedding rituals.

The reports reveal that, as soon as the bride and groom had exchanged their vows and garlands, the groom, with his cousin in tow, to a spot nearby, before getting drunk and losing consciousness.

Witnesses reveal that after the groom had been brought back to continue the wedding rituals, he had continued to request for more beer.

After being refused, the groom reportedly began throwing a tantrum, embarrassing the bride’s family as well as the guests at the ceremony.

Kamat who had been sitting quietly all the while, finally lost her temper, refusing to continue with the wedding rituals.

The groom and his relatives who had been causing the ruckus had reportedly been locked up in a room, and had only been released upon their agreement to return the dowry which had already been paid.
