There is a new photo on the making rounds from the BlackLivesMatters protest in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA and it is everything Black lives stands for.
According to a New Orleans-based photographer, Jonathan Bachman who was interviewed by , over 100 demonstrators gathered outside the Baton Rouge Police department to protest against the unjust killing of Alton Sterling.
Bachman, 31, stated that law enforcement officers dressed in full riot gear showed up and told the demonstrators to move to the sidewalk but this lady silently refused to move.
The lady in the photo has since been identified as Leshia Evans, 35.
Evans in a Facebook post thanked people for their well wishes and God for being alive.
“I appreciate the well wishes and love, but this is the work of God,” Evans wrote on Facebook.
“I am a vessel! Glory to the most high! I’m glad I’m alive and safe. And that there were no casualties that I have witnessed first-hand.”
