In the history of Nigeria, the women have not been given the chance to be president, despite the fact many of them are actually eminently qualified for the plum job of leading the country.
Is Nigeria ripe for a female president?
Nigeria is a very peculiar country where women political office seekers are not given the opportunity to aspire to high positions. Do you think a female can rule Nigeria?
It has never been for a lack of trying by them as few women have made attempts to vie for the presidency but the peculiar situation in the country has always pitted them against formidable men.
Many Nigerians are of the view that women, going by the way they are made, would not survive in such positions. The likes of Sarah Jubril in the past, tried their best but they were not found worthy of getting to the top position.
In the run in to the 2015 presidential election, a virtually unknown woman, Prof. Remi Shonaiya of the KOWA Party, has come out to offer her service but yet again, it seems the stakes are still for her with many seeing her candidacy as a joke.
On Morning Teaser today, we ask? do you think Nigeria is ripe for a female president?
