GEJ Denies #BringBackJonathan2015 Posters

President Goodluck Jonathan has come out to condemn those who are using the hashtag #BringBackGoodluck2015, asking them to pull down the posters bearing the offensive banners.

An embarrassed President Goodluck Jonathan has dissociated himself from the disgraceful #BringBackJonathan2015 posters that has brought lots of condemnation from all and sundry, and has ordered the immediate removal and dismantling of such anywhere they have been erected in the country.

The posters which drew lots of flak from Nigerians and even made an editorial in the pages of the respected Washington post, must have caused serious damage to the reputation of the President and hence, the order.

In a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the President on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati, President Jonathan was not aware of the highly sensitive posters, a clear parody of the #Bring Back Our Girls hash tag, which 'were put up without his knowledge or approval.'

While President Jonathan appreciates the enthusiastic show of support for his administration by a broad range of stakeholders, he condemns the #BringBackJonathan2015 signs which appear to make light of the very serious national and global concern for the abducted Chibok girls.

The President assures all Nigerians and the international community that his administration remains fully engaged with efforts to rescue the abducted girls and that he will not knowingly promote any actions that will fly in the face of the seriousness of their plight and the anguish of their families.
