A cat named after famous Hollywood actor Arnold Schwarzenegger has shown he's just as tough as the Terminator after surviving being shot twice.

The cat was blasted in the chest by a hunting gun, but somehow managed to drag himself back home.

Arnold, three, suffered a shattered shoulder and had to have one of his legs amputated following what his owners, Leah and Allen Elphick, fear was a "deliberate" attack.

When the family returned from an holiday, they discovered he was shot and they rushed him to the emergency vet, where an X-Ray revealed he had been gunned down a second time.

She said: “We were just shocked because exactly the same thing happened two years ago.”

Unlike the previous shooting, which passed straight though the cart, this time the bullet hit Arnold in the chest, went through his shoulder then became lodged in his leg.

Leah, 30, told the Eastbourne Herald : "He’s named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, our favourite action movie hero and he’s certainly living up to his name,” Leah said.

“He’s a real character, all the kids love him and take selfies with him.”

She added: “We can’t work out if he’s the unluckiest cat in the world for getting shot twice, or the luckiest for surviving twice.”

Allen, 28, said: “He’s one of the family and our ten-year-old boy is really upset and struggling to understand why anyone would want to shoot his pet.

“Either someone’s seen him and shot him deliberately, or they haven’t seen him and it was an accident."

However, police carried out an initial investigations, but said there was nothing more that could be done without any concrete evidence.
