A 21-year-old security guard has been arraigned before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 15, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The accused identified as Sunday Nnamoku, is alleged to have broken into an estate auditorium in Lagos, making away with some items including a plasma TV worth N149, 500.

The incident was reported at the Ketu Police Station on September 4 by the complainant, Chief Onamo Agboyi.

The complainant who owns Agboyi Estate in Ketu area reportedly employed Nnamoku and three other accomplices as security guards on the property.

The reports reveal that the accused and his accomplices who are still at large conspired together and broke into the estate's auditorium and stole valuables.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Lucky Ihiehie, said:

"The complainant reported that the items taken from the auditorium include an executive plasma television set valued at N45, 000 and a medium plasma television set valued at N 85, 000 respectively.

"Other items stolen include two stabilisers and two uninterruptible power supply (UPS) attached to the plasma tv valued at N 19, 500.’’

Ihiehie also alleged that the stolen items were stashed in a nearby bush from where they would be sold.

“The place is where hoodlums buy and sell stolen goods. The Police on receiving the report swung into action by invading the location.”

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule-Amzat, set bail at N20, 000 with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a blood relative with evidence of gainful employment before adjourning the case to November 22 for mention.
