Court arraigns 3 for stealing phones worth N77,500
The suspects are to stand trial for four-count charge of stealing and malicious damage.
The men allegedly stole the phones from two shopkeepers at the Small Kuramo area of Lekki, Lagos.
Sergeant Nicholas Akpene, the persecuting officer said the crime was committed on May 20, 2016, at around 4 AM.
Akpene also said that the men intentionally destroyed a wooden cabin worth N9,000, and five plastic chairs worth N12,000 in the process of the crime.
According to the persecuting officer, the band of thieves stole phones valued at N46,500 and N9,000 cash from Lawal Adeniyi and Agbeyegbe Orighonisan.
They are now expected to stand trial for four-count charge of stealing and malicious damage, which they denied.
The suspects have been granted an opportunity for bail in the sum of N20,000 each, till the court resumes ruling on the case in June 2016.
