Woman abandons new baby in hospital over inability to pay bills

The woman dumped her baby at the hospital over her inability to pay a sum of N125,000 charged as medical bill.

The mother, Tony Okiemute, 25, reportedly abandoned the baby at the George’s Specialist Clinic and Maternity, Delta State where it was delivered.

Sunny Ebone, the Administrative Manager of the hospital, along with some welfare officers took the baby to the police station to make a report.

According to the Daily Post News, the baby girl was the only surviving child from a pair of twins delivered on October 5, 2016.

The other baby was a boy claimed to have died after birth.

Report says that the woman was charged a sum of N125,000 as medical expenses which she could not afford.

A Chief Superintendent of Police, Anieteh Eyoh, has ordered police officers to begin a search for the parents of the baby.
