A father and his son are currently battling for their lives in a private hospital in Calabar, the capital of Cross River State, after they were shot by a gang of dreaded armed robbers at their residence in a three hour robbery operation, CrossRiverWatch reports.

A father and his son were shot and wounded by armed robbers who invaded their house.
The operation, according to the report, occurred behind Millicent Fuel Station along MCC road with the owner of the station being the victim.
It was gathered from family members that the incident which occurred in the early hours of Monday between 1am and 4 am, saw the bandits first tying up the security guard, seizing his phone and then proceeding to the house which shares a perimeter fence with the fuel station, where they ransacked painstakingly for the whole three house.
“When they came, they shot through the door, later through the window which they broke and came in through.
It was a stray bullet that pierced through the window that hit the boy in the leg while after the robbers gained entry through the window."
After the robbery operation, the robbers made away with cash and other valuables from the family.
