'He steals my money always'; 'No, I don't just love her again': Husband, wife, exchange words in court

A divorce seeking woman has accused her husband of stealing her money everytime.

Broken Marriage

“My husband would not give me and my child money for food. Instead, he would be stealing my money and whenever I asked him to return my stolen money, he would resort to beating me.

“On one of such occasions, one of my neighbours called my parents when he was beating me mercilessly. When my parents came and asked him what he wanted, he said I should leave his house because he does not love me anymore. That is why I am seeking for divorce,” Idayat told the court.

But in denying the allegation in the divorcecase instituted by his wife, Olayiwola of Kabelo Street, Otaefun, Osogbo, described the allegation of stealing levelled against him by his wife as untrue, but admitted that he told her parents that she should leave his house because he does not love her again.

“I agree to the divorce because she has married another man and bore a child for him.”

Delivering judgement, the president of the court, Chief Popoola Bolarinwa, dissolved the marriage saying that all evidence pointed to the fact that both parties wanted the divorce.
