New reports have emerged that men suspected to be members of the terrorist sect, Boko Haram, have reportedly ambushed a troop of soldiers carrying food stuffs.

A search and rescue team was reportedly sent to the general area where the insurgent troops were found, leading to the recovery of the corpses of a soldier and a civilian JTF, as well as 6 burnt AK-47 rifles.
In a statement released by the acting director of the Army public relations, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman ,on Friday, December 11, states that some soldiers conveying foodstuffs to troops were ambushed along Bama-Ngurosoye by suspected Boko Haram members, yesterday Thursday, December 10.
The search and rescue team has reportedly intensified search for a soldier who remains missing as of the time the statement was released.
The Explosive Ordinance Device element attached to the search and rescue team reportedly discovered and detonated an Improvised Explosive Device, buried along the route which was being taken.
Boko Haram terrorists hideout in the area were also discovered and destroyed in the course of the search.
Although Ngurosoye had earlier been cleared of terrorists for some months now, but Boko Haram terrorists, assumed to be innocent civilians, reportedly found their way back into the area, launching an attack on the troops escorting supplies to Nigerian forces who were on the front lines as of yesterday.
