Nigerian student arrested for imprisoning professor in the U.S

A 19-year-old Nigerian student has been arrested and detained for imprisoning his professor against her will at his college in the US.

Jude Akachukwu is being detained for threatening his college professor

MugShot reports that Akachukwu had walked into the professor's office without being invited, closed the door blocking the doorway and threatening that she would not leave the office until she agreed to allow him to take the exam he had earlier missed.

It was gathered that the college student also grabbed the professor's arm as she tried to walk away, warning her of the consequences if she refused to let him have his way.

When the professor told him she would have to call the police, Akachukwu reportedly threw himself on the floor and started crying. The professor managed to leave her office and went to a nearby classroom to teach.

Akachukwu, a resident of Gainesville in the Alachua County,  allegedly followed and began to disrupt the class before he was arrested by the school security and handed over to the police.

He has been charged with false imprisonment, battery and disturbing the peace and is being held in the Alachua County jail.
