Speaker of the House of Representatives,Yakubu Dogara has begun distribution of food items to Muslim communities in Bauchi State.

Hon. Dogara also urged Muslim faithfuls to always spread the message of peace and unity throughout the country this holy month of Ramadan.

He added that only peace can bring the desired development under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

The speaker made the statement available to newsmen in Bauchi through chairman of the committee distributing the food items, Nuhu Abdulrazak Zaki.

Zaki said the beneficiaries cut-across all the 20 local government areas in the state, describing it as Hon. Dogara's effort to reduce suffering among the Muslim communities in the state. The items, according to him, are two trucks of rice, two and a half trucks of millet and one and a half trucks of sugar.

He said thousands of Muslims are expected to benefit from the gesture of the Speaker in the state and even the extended North East region.

Zaki maintained that the committee contacted the speaker of the state House of Assembly who in turn assured the committee of their support throughout the exercise to ensure respective central mosques derived benefit from the gesture.

According to him, Dogara’s decision to embark on the distribution of the food items was to prove to the entire nation that he is a leader for all Nigerians irrespective of religious and ethnic differences.
