For Christians: How to face challenges like a pro play

As Christians, we rejoice in the face of tribulations because we know where our strength lies

Everyone, including Christians, goes through tough times.

You know those challenging times when you feel like the world is crashing around you and you have no idea what you should do.

During those moments, when you are tempted to despair and worry, hold to the following;

Turn to God’s Words

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.”

This is just one of the many promises you can find in the Bible, which makes the scriptures the best place to turn to in scary times.

Tell God your problems

When we have issues, the first thing most people want to do is pick up the phone and call someone.

Before you do, ask yourself, ‘Can this person really help me or will I just vent for nothing?’ If the answer is no, and even if it is yes, we need to remember to always take our problems to God first.

The Bible tells us, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication and with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6).

This verse urges us to go back to one “who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20–21)

Keep your focus on God, not your problems

Whatever you keep your focus on is what is magnified. If you keep thinking about your issues, then they will overwhelm you. But if God is all you focus on, then He outshines and outweighs everything.

A great way to this is to read and meditate on the Bible, where you find promises and other cases where God has come through for others (See Romans 10:17).

Once you can achieve this, you find peace of mind and rest as promised in Matthew 11:28–30, which says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest in my souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Remember, you don't need to have problems before you run to God. He is there, knocking on the door and waiting to have a relationship with you.
